I held my first annual NWFD in 2004 with my five closest girlfriends. My oldest friend of 42 years flew out from Arkansas to California to join us. I've known my other invited girlfriends for 38, 25, 11 and six years. My wish for the day was to bring my friends together and introduce them to each other so they could be friends too. It was a wonderful day full of love, fun and friendship all around. This year we are celebrating again and I'm inviting a newer girlfriend into the friendship fold. I am making small personalized scrapbooks for each of my invited girlfriends, and have ordered some of the bookmarks and magnets to put in gift bags along with a copy of the book Chicken Soup for the Girlfriends Soul.
